Tourist Attractions and Sightseeing near the Airport in Hong Kong

Every year passengers who enter Hong Kong simply prefer to stay at the airport or in the city centre are either spending their short stopover holiday. They are unaware of the fact that some of the city's most spectacular attractions are near to the airport.

This article will show that without getting too far from the airport how you can enjoy your Hong Kong tours.

You can go on the Lantau Tours in Hong Kong. Hong Kong's largest and most Scenic Island that is Lantau Island is situated right next to the airport and it is home to some of Hong Kong's most spectacular tourist attractions other than beautiful nature sceneries of steep forest-clad mountains and sandy coves.

You can deposit your trolley luggage at the baggage storage facility, in the Meeters and Greeters Hall after clearing with Customs and Immigration. Now on Lantau Island to the new town of Tung Chung, you can catch a bus.

To enjoy a cup of coffee or a light meal City gate is also a good place, as the mall boasts 14 restaurants and cafes, as well as a cinema and other entertainment venues. From here, to Ngong Ping and its attractions you can start your cable-car journey. You must also enjoy the Airport layover in Hong Kong.

A visit to Lin Monastery, Ngong Ping Village, Po and the "Big Buddha" is definitely one of Hong Kong's must-dos. All the way up to the mountain from the lower terminus, next to City gate, a distance of almost 6 km is covered by the 25 minutes long cable-car ride. The panoramic views are simply spectacular.

You can see the famous "Big Buddha" up on the mountain during your Hong Kong Tours. Above its Lotus-shaped base soaring to a height of 34 meters is an immense bronze statue of the seated Buddha. With its lovely vegetarian restaurant, lavish Chinese decors and beautiful golden statues there is the Po Lin Monastery.
