Visit Hong Kong's Still Water Beauty: Double Haven

Double Haven is a serene, picturesque natural harbor of Hong Kong. It is affectionately known as Little Xihu and Little Guilin by the locals. When the lands became submerged in rising glacial waters, it was formed more than 12000 years ago.

To one of the last well preserved traditional Hakka walled villages, the Double Haven region is also home.

Because of the calmness of its waters which did not change even in stormy weather and from the Englishmen who controlled the city the harbor earned its name. To arrive at Double Haven by boat or hiking trail from the city you will find it fairly easy during your luxury Hong Kong private tours.

As you explore the National Geo- Park this pleasant little niche in nature is easy to locate. Many other wonderful formations and places of undisturbed natural beauty are contained in this and is a fascinating wonder in itself.

To keep the waves of the sea from moving around rapidly into the harbor, Double Haven is ringed in by three medium sized islands that form a perfect little pocket of water. The beautiful rock formations found around the haven makes wonderful patterns all around the islands and is varied in age, color and shape.

As the weather and light changes through the day this makes for an unforgettable vista. There are various things to do in Hong Kong.

Do not forget to pay a visit to the traditional Hakka villages nearby, as you enjoy the halcyon beauty of Double Haven. By the south Chinese Hakka people, these intriguing homesteads are occupied.

You will find their traditional houses all fortified by mighty walls and tightly huddled together inside of these villages. For defense, this architectural style was adapted by the Hakka, and even today they proudly preserve it.

From your trek to the clam waters of Double Haven, spending some time at one of these curious abodes will be a welcome break.

At any time of the year, a Hong Kong hotel of your choosing can be found waiting and ready. Even before you undertake your quest to the islands star-class, for relaxation and rest, Hong Kong hotels such as the Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong is available.
